CANDLE CARE

To ensure that you get the best out of your candle, we have listed some guidelines for you:

  • First and foremost, please take note of the warning label on the base of your candle
  • Burn your candle for at least 2 hours on the first burn; the first burn is very important because it will dictate the behaviour/performance of your candle going forward
  • Each time you burn your candle, it is advisable to allow for a full melt pool before you blow it out. This will prevent tunnelling when your candle sets/cools
  • Sometimes, the odd tiny air bubble occurs at the edge of the glass. This is quite usual with candles and often unavoidable. This happens because the hot wax comes into contact with the cold wax and seeps down the sides of the glass
  • Bubbles can also occur near the wick because the wax pulls away from the wick when it cools
  • After burning, a rough/lumpy “top” MAY occur. Do not be alarmed. This happens because of the hot wax in the melt pool cooling and solidifying at an inconsistent rate. This “feature” is a good sign because it shows that the candle is made with all-natural soy and coconut wax. It does not affect the performance of the candle
  • Always trim the wick before each use by using a wick trimmer (throw out the black bits). This allows the wax to capillary up the wick to feed the flame properly
  • Do not move your candle while it is burning
  • Do not move your candle while the wax is still melted and hot. The glass may be hot to the touch. Wait for the wax to set/cool
  • Do not leave a burning candle unattended
  • Do not use the lid to extinguish the flame
  • To extinguish the candle flame, blow it out or use a snuffer. Do not use your finger or water
  • “Close” your un-lit candle once cooled with the lid to keep out insects and dust particles. This also locks in the fragrance and extends the life span of your candle and prevents the wax from drying out
  • Keep your candle in a cool place out of direct sunlight
  • Some fragrances can discolour the wax

** Once the candle is finished, the container can be easily cleaned with warm water and sunlight liquid and used for jewellery, odds and sods, sweets, hairs clips etc.
